  • Sage Flat Campground is along Big Pine Creek in the Inyo National Forest, 9½ miles west of the town of Big Pine. Visitors to the Big Pine Creek area enjoy beautiful mountain scenery with mature forests of pines and aspens. Anglers have good success fishing in Big Pine Creek. Trails lead up to the spectacular Big Pine Lakes and other destinations in the John Muir Wilderness. Mountaineers are drawn by the jagged peaks along the Sierra Crest.
