Little Basin Cabins and Campground
Unfortunately, the facilities at Little Basin Cabins and Campground at Big Basin State Park were heavily damaged during the 2020 forest fire that swept the state. Vista Recreation is waiting direction from the State regarding the planning & reconstruction process.
Little Basin is a California State Parks campground and is part of Big Basin Redwoods State Park, the first state park in California. The property is open to the groups with a wide array of gathering, dining, teambuilding and recreational facilities, most of which date back to the Hewlett Packard era. Little Basin also offers 37 tent sites, 12 camping cabins and a single full hook up RV site. Guests to Little Basin will discover the beauty and significance of this fragile ecosystem while exploring expansive meadows, towering coast redwoods and a vast network of trails in and around the park.
Little Basin is an idyllic natural setting to unplug, unwind and enjoy fresh scent of the coastal air and majestic redwoods. Camping guests may choose to sleep under the sparkling night sky, tucked away in a tent or in a rustic, wood sided cabin. Little Basin offers a family-friendly atmosphere, with plenty of grassy meadows that are also very popular with the sizable local deer herd.
